Female only courses
We are now pleased to be able to offer RYA Competent crew and RYA Day Skipper female only courses.
With a maximum of 4 students to one female instructor.
Many females would love to learn to sail but feel nervous about the perception that it is a male dominated sport. Also females tend to learn differently than men, and by offering female only courses, you will learn to sail and gain confidence with other like-minded females in an atmosphere that is tailored towards you as a female.
Here is a quote from a lady who has asked many times for a course with only ladies on board:
“What a great idea, I would feel a lot more comfortable doing a course with other ladies. I always feel a bit nervous on board with men, as though they are judging me. This would be amazing.”
Courses Overview
RYA Competent Crew previous experience
- None
RYA Day Skipper previous experience
- 5 days aboard as an active crew member
- 100 recorded miles
- 4 night hours
- Theory knowledge to Day Skipper Standard - please also read the RYA Day Skipper Theory Syllabus to ascertain if your knowledge is to this level.

Included
- Accommodation on board for the duration of the course + Friday night at the end of the course free of charge and if you need to stay on board on the Saturday night after the course we charge a nominal fee of £15 (be aware though that at weekends we may need access to the boat in the day ).

- Towels (Hand and bath towel)

- All lunches (including homemade cake!)
- 1 evening meal with wine
